Speaking of Scones: A Bloomsbury Book Signing

How did you celebrate Alice B. Toklas’ birthday yesterday? Or Independent Book Store Day on Saturday? These are both momentous occasions that deserve your attention.

I reveled in the fact that so many folks from every corner of my life from the last 16 years were under one roof, sitting elbow to elbow and on the steps as well to hear me speak.  David was afraid the balcony would collapse. My heart is still full of gratitude for this outpouring.

In honor of all of the above, I came out of retirement as a scone artist and the plate that looked heaping full at the beginning was clearly empty at the end.

And so it begins.
